About Pookode Lake

Pookode Lake is a natural freshwater lake in the hills near Vythiri, surrounded by evergreen forest and lily pads. A footpath runs around the water, and pedal boats are available for a quiet ride on the lake. In the early morning it is still and peaceful, with mist over the water.

The lake is shaped, as locals say, a little like the outline of India, and is one of the most visited spots in Wayanad.
