One of the largest earth dams in India

Banasura Sagar is a large earth dam on the Karamanathodu river and one of the biggest of its type in India and Asia. The reservoir spreads across the valley dotted with small islands, which appear when the water level drops. Visitors can walk along the dam wall and spillway, and speed boats take guests across the water for a closer view of the islands.
The hills behind the lake are named after the demon king Banasura and give the dam its name.
See it as part of a planned itinerary with transport, stay and a trip coordinator.
