Terraced lawns, rare trees and flower beds

Laid out on the slopes of Doddabetta in 1848, the Government Botanical Garden is one of the best-known gardens in South India. Terraced lawns, an Italian-style garden, a fern house and thousands of species of plants and trees fill the hillside.
A fossilised tree trunk, millions of years old, is one of the curiosities on display. The annual flower show in May is the garden's busiest time.
See it as part of a planned itinerary with transport, stay and a trip coordinator.
