About Amappara (Tortoise Rock)

Amappara is a field of huge natural boulders near Nedumkandam, and one of them is shaped like a giant tortoise. Narrow paths and cave-like gaps run between the rocks, and the top gives views over the hills of the high range.

It is an easy, fun stop for photographs and a short climb.
